I can't wait for the next birthday party! By Mary

On 13th of May, my mum, dad and I went to my auntie's birthday. It was at a restaurant. The restaurant was fancy because there were plenty of servers and plenty of fancy lights. It was a raining day.

After we arrived inside the restaurant, we saw plenty of decorated chairs, tables and colourful walls. After that, we waited for my aunty to come out of the door so that we could sing the Happy Birthday song to her.

As soon as she came out of the door, her dress was beautiful because it had all the flowers that she loved on it, and it was pink which is my favourite colour.

When she came out, she told my mum to help her because her dress was really long. The birthday cake was enormous It looked so pretty. When we finished singing and blowing out the candles, it was time to eat. I loved all the food in the kitchen. There were chicken nibbles, hot chips, rice, chicken, potato salad, Tongan food and different type of food. I got chicken nibbles, hot chips and rice. The rice was juicy and smooth, the chicken nibbles were crunchy and delicious and the hot chips were hot and crispy. We also had dessert. There were chocolate cake and ice cream. The flavours were chocolate, vanilla, lime, strawberry, hokey pokey, and many other different colours. I got chocolate cake, cheesecake and chocolate ice cream. It was so delicious.

Finally it was time to go home and I was so tired from eating all the food.

My favourite part of the day was looking at all the fancy things around the restaurant.

  1. Hello there, my name is Lily from Waiwkowhai Primary School. I really liked how you describe a good amount about your aunts birthday in a very cool way. It made me think of when my birthday was over and I just wanted to be my birthday forever but then I guess I would be 365 by the end of the year. Maybe next time you could add more adjective but besides that it is great.

  3. Kia Ora Mary. I really enjoyed reading about your aunt's birthday. It sounds like you had a lot of fun. I have never tried Tongan food so I was interested to hear that you had it. Well Done. From Dakota
