Volvo Have A Go! Sailing In Okahu Bay

On the 11th of May our Year 7's and 8's had the opportunity to participate in a day of learning to sail at Okahu Bay.
For many this was an opportunity to try something completely new and, as you can tell by the photos, a great time was had by all.

As the day progressed, the clouds rolled in and the wind picked up. This didn't, however put a damper on their spirits!

We humbly thank our tutors and acknowledge Rotary Meadowbank for making this whole event possible.

  1. Hi Room 7 I'm Havahna I go to Kawakawa Primary school I really like this post because sailing sounds fun when the wind picks up because it makes it goes faster. I went to a Volvo ocean race down in Auckland and we did some sailing with some Olympians and actually there was a famous sailer that was in the Olympics. Hope you guys do more fun and post it on your guys blog. :)

  12. Magandang araw Rm 7, my name is Xyril from St. Patricks School.
I really like the way you guys explained the features of the photos by putting descriptions.
I also really like how you didn't put photos of unnecessary silly faces.
Next time can you go somewhere else that includes staying in land because I get anxious thinking about being at the deep parts of the beach.
Did somebody fall in the water while it was deep?

I really like how you tried something that you haven't done before, which was obviously sailing, to be honest, sailing is actually pretty fun, I really like how you've expressed yourselves to write about sailing, which would be pretty hard for me to write something about I faced like basketball and baseball and trained for it everyday, I also really like how you so much fun riding boats and buddying up, Good Job Room 7!.
