Noooooooo, not the dinosaurs! By Julius

This story is about a boy named Arg who is looking for a cure for the dinosaurs that have been infected by people flu. One day he finds his dinosaur friend skeet( a T-rex) unwell so he goes with him to find a cure. Skeet takes Arg to a herd of stegosaurus that have not been affected by the bad people flu.
So Arg used his bare hands to take the snot from one of the stegosaurus' nose, because he knew that would cure them. He got blasted with snot and he was disgusted but he knew that he had to do it for the dinosaurs. So he walked back to the secret valley and all the dinosaurs in that area licked Arg and then they started to get better. Arg was glad that all the dinosaurs were better and he retreated back to his village with pride. However, he had red spots all over him. Skeet took him on his back to his village and dropped him off there.

Arg's mum came charging out of the village and picked up her sick son and carried him into the cave and dumped him on his bedrock. He wondered if saving the dinosaurs was worth him being sick.
My favourite part was when Arg got blasted by the snot and when he saved all the dinosaurs.
We are learning to develop understanding of the text that we read.
I know this when I write a short summary of the story Dinosaur to the rescue and share my favourite part of the story.

Rest in peace, all those that died during the war! By Julius

World War 1 started in 1915 when Germany wanted to take over the world but other countries wanted peace and that’s how World War 1 started.

Germany declared war on the British government. New Zealand was part of the British empire, so they joined forces with New Zealand, Russia, Australia and France. A total of 30 countries were involved in the war.

Life in the trenches was hard as the British and France recruited manpower from China to support the troops with manual labour. Their main objective was digging the trenches before the main attack. More than 140,000 labourers from China helped to dig the trenches for the allies in the Western front.

Powers on one side and central powers on the other, the war went on from the 28th of July 1914 until 11th of November 1918. Between the allies and the central powers of Germany, the war ended on the 11th of November 1918 when the allies won and the rest, as we all say, is history.

Be careful, it's sharp! By Julius

A knife is a tool we find in the kitchen. Have you ever used one? It has a handle and a blade that is made of steel.People use it to slice things like meat, bread, vegetables and fruit and many types of food.

People who cook this kind of food might need a knife or just need it to spread butter on toast or to cut a sandwich. In fact because knives are so sharp you can easily cut yourself so be careful with knives.

Knives come in different sizes and are used for different thing for example butter knives they are used for buttering bread and scones. However bigger knives are used for cutting cakes, veggies and fruit.

A knife is very useful but can also be dangerous.

WALT write an explanation writing.
Success criteria:I know this when I add details in my writing.

My really happy weekend! By Julius

It was a Saturday morning and I felt really happy. I got out of bed and played Minecraft. I felt a roller coaster of emotions. After my game, I did my chores.I had to clean out the rubbish bins, make the beds and put away the dishes.

When I was done, I went back to playing Minecraft. Then my uncles came back from work. They are building a two story house, but Michael had a rugby game so my mum got ready was getting ready. However I kept playing my game because I didn't want to go. My Nana was still doing the chores and I was bored because my cousins weren't coming over.

The following day, I went to church with my Nana and grandpa. When church ended we went home.
