Help, help, I need to destroy my micro bots! By Cameron

On Easter Saturday, I asked my dad if I can sleepover at my nana’s house. He said, “Yes! You can.” So I pack my clothes for church and some balls to play with. When I got to nana’s house, I said “Hello!” to her. She asked,

"What are you doing here?” I said
“I am sleeping over.” As soon as I got in the house, I asked for some noodles because I was hungry.

When I was having my noodles, John got a text from my aunty saying that Xavier left Eli at home so we picked them up. John asked Eli what he had for dinner. Eli said, “I had a hot chocolate.” So we went to McDonald's to get a cheeseburger for Eli.

When we got home, I went inside to watch Big Hero 6. Eli came in and ate his food while watching with me.
Big Hero 6 is a robot who helps Hero to destroy his microbots. Hero like to fight robots. Hero can upgrade his friends into superheroes.

After Big Hero 6 had finished, I played a little bit of Minecraft. I built a snow house with water in it because if you put lava in it, it will burn the snow. I also built a fun and easy maze with some green wool and leaves. After that I went to bed because it was late.

I wish we had more time with Xavier. Maybe we can pick him up earlier next time.

My first amazing golf lesson! By Rosary

On Thursday 6th of February, Room 7 and I went to play golf for kiwi-sport.  The coach's name was coach Kanou and the supervisor's name was Stuart. I was really excited. We played on the field.

We had some warm-ups. We jumped through the hoola-hoops and side stepped on it  as well. We also played a game when we had to partner up with someone else, my partner was Jayden. We had to do some actions and then we throw the ball. The actions were left foot, right foot, feet together, right hand left hand, piggy pop, and throw.

Then we had a golf game, we swung the golf club so that it can hit the ball. We watched to see whose ball went the furtherest.

Soon golf was finished and I had so much fun. I can't wait until the next game. I hope it is as fun as this golf lesson.

Are you an altar server at church? By Cameron

In the afternoon, I played Roblox until 5 o'clock. I only played the Zombie Tsunami game. I moved up from level 10 to 53 and got new weapon to use for fighting the zombies. I saw a lot of my friends

playing that game as well and some of them are on level 50 and the rest are on level 100.

When it was 5 o'clock, I went to church with my mum, nana and uncle. When we got to church, I went to the back to see if Aiden was there as well, but he was not their. So I went to the front and I saw Soane. Next, I asked him where Aiden was and he said “He’s not here”. Then I went to the back to wait for Father.

When Father arrived I asked if I could be an altar boy and he said “Yes”. I told him that I was new. I put the altar alb on and Father said that Chris will help and tell me what to do. I had to get the cross and carry it.

Next, I had to go to the front of the church and wait until a man had said the introduction. When he had finished, I walked up slowly with Father and Chris. I did everything that I was instructed to do. After Mass has ended, Father introduced my name and I took Father back to the front. I went to put the cross back and take off the altar alb.

I feel happy because I’m now an altar boy. I want to be an altar server every Saturday.

Riverhead, what a lovely place! By Aiden

Have you been to Riverhead before?

In the weekend I went to see my auntie and uncle at my auntie's mum's house. We had lunch there. I was eating slowly to savour my lunch. I had an egg sandwich, sausages and a drink of juice. It was very yummy. I was going to eat some more but I was too full. My brother Caleb and I went for a walk on a track to burn off the food so we have the stomach to later eat at the Riverhead pub. When we came back from our little stroll, we went to look at my uncle and auntie's new house that will be built in March. We couldn't see anything but dirt.

No wood, nothing, just a can of paint to mark out the walls. Caleb and I wore jandals and the dust from the dirt got our feet dirty. Caleb and I were racing and playing around the hill of dirt. We ran up and down it. After that we went to the Riverhead pub.

When we got there, we both said "It's packed". After we went in, we looked around . Did you know this used to be an old bikers pub? There was live music, good food and drinks. The menu had the history of the pub and of course the food menu. We had a great time.

I felt really happy after that. I want to go again. I had fun and everyone at the Riverhead pub had fun as well so it was a win, win situation.

Have you been to Point England Reserve before for Kids' safety day? By Jayden

On Saturday the 21st of February, I went to Point England Reserve for kid's safety day, my mum and I went super early so we can get a car park. We waited and waited and waited. After a while the activities started, but my mum and I were still waiting for my cousins. When I saw them coming, I was excited because we finally could go to the activities. There were water activities, Police activities, Ambulance activities and fire activities.

My cousins and I got passports for the 6 stamps. We went to every activity to collect the 6 stamps each. Then we all went in line to get a free hot dog in exchange for the 6 stamps collected. I saw my friends Rosary and Kayla. Rosary said "Can we push in" I said " Sure". I noticed that they were holding frisbee's from the activities and they got them for free. I felt proud and happy for them.

When we finished eating Celeste and I went for a swim. When we first got in, the water was cold so we got out and played in the sand instead. We were getting dirty so we cleaned ourselves in the water and went to dry ourselves next to my mum who was under the tree eating an apple. Summer, my cousin and Celeste's mum went to the park to play on the swing.

Celeste and I stayed behind and ate apples, then we went to see the police dogs. The colour of the police dogs was brown and black, They had sharp teeth and their names were Paula and Bear. They were awesome. Finally we had to go home.

I felt so happy that I participated in the kid's safety day because I learned how to be safe in the house, in the street, at school and everywhere I go. It was the best day ever.

Is golf a little bit difficult for you? By Shannon

After morning tea, our class was lucky because we got to try out golf and it was exciting. It started at 11:15 and finished at 12:45. Our coaches were coach Kanou and coach Stuart. We had hopes, clubs, golf balls, ropes and cones.

When we went to golf, we had to warm up first. We started by skipping over the hoop. It was a little bit difficult for me because the hoops were close together which made me go slow. However, it was a fun warm up for everyone.
Then it was time for a game. Before we used a club to putt, we did a simple routine. Left hand, right hand, feet together, left foot, right foot and piggy pop. Soon everyone got the hang of it. Then it was time for the fun part, putting! We all had to try and putt as far as we can. Some of us were using force to make the ball go far. However the trick with putting the ball far away was the swing. It was better to swing softly.
Golf was a really fun sport and I really enjoyed it. I wish there would be more fun sports like this one. However I would like to practise my swings more next time.

Why do I have to go mum? By Launoa

My weekend recount!

Do you know how boring watching your brother’s Polyfest practise is?

On Saturday 21th of February 2015, it was a beautiful sunny day and it was really hot. We went inside the hall and there were lots of boys sitting down ready for practise. They were practising for Poly fest.

Before the practise was about to start , we hurried to get some chairs for us to sit on.
I was really shy because my brother told me to come over. I said “No” because in the Tongan culture the girls are not allowed to hang around the boys. So my mum told me to sit down with her.

A few minute later, the Sacred Heart boys including my brother had a 10 minute break so my mum, auntie, cousins, and I had to prepare the food. The boys were lucky because they had ice cream, pancakes and some fizzy drinks. After their 10 minutes break, they practised for their performance.

Then there was a loud drum that came out of nowhere. I had to block my ears in front of everyone. After that, was the practise almost finished so I went outside with Akesa and some of my friends. I was  happy when the practise ended.

I had a boring time because I had nothing to do, it would be awesome if the Tongan boys had more interesting dance moves so that we can make the other schools jealous.

Have you ever had a tiring day before? By Shivay

On Saturday I stayed home with my sister my mum, dad grand parents. First I went to our movie theatre to watch The Chipmunks. There were 3 chipmunks that could talk and looked very cute.

After the movie I recorded videos and uploaded it to YouTube for everyone to see. After that, I played Minecraft on my PS3 and I visited ‘Stampy’s lovely world'. It was awesome because one of his theme park called ‘Fun-land’.

Meanwhile I watched gaming videos on YouTube and I got  a little bored so I watched Minecraft videos. Next ,I played snakes and ladders with my sister and I won because I rolled a higher number on the dice.

After that ,it was nearly afternoon so I called my sister to play outside with our kittens Sweaty and Pie. We, played ‘Chase the mouse’. ‘Chase the mouse’ is a game we made up for our kittens. First you have to be a cat and the kittens are the mouses. We have to try to catch them but they were too fast.

Two hours later, we decided to dance a bit because it made me feel healthier and happier. After dancing, we did 100 jumping jacks and that was tiring so we made strawberry smoothies because my said “They’re healthy for you and yummy as well”.

5 hours later, it was night time so we ate some eggs with mashed potatoes for dinner. I didn't like it because I don’t like eggs, but I like mashed potatoes because of they’re inside bit.

Then we went to bed because it had been a tiring day. I wish I didn't do 100 jumping jacks because that made me really tired and thirsty, and I think next time I will just play with my kittens.

Do you know the story of Sua? By Philomena

WALT retell the story of Sua in my own words using dialogue.

I know I can do this when I use speech marks to end and start a speech.

The retelling of Sua's story ....

A long, long, long, long, time ago on the island of Samoa, there was a small man called Sua.

He was brave, strong and always protected his sister. One day, Sua heard his sister cry and it made him furious. So he asked his sister ''Why are you crying?” and his sister said, ''The man had hurt me''. Sua was angry when he had heard this, so he went to search for the man. He looked everywhere in Samoa.

Then one day after the sun has set, Sua saw the man. So he jumped on his horse  with his stick and struck the man. When he had calmed down, he saw that he had broken the man’s legs. Sua felt sad and went back to tell his sister what he had done. After telling her about what had happened, she told Sua to go to another country otherwise he will go to prison.

The next day, he said “Goodbye” to his family and packed his bags. Sua felt really sad. Then he went on the plane to NZ and found that it was really cold in Aotearoa and he only had a T-shirt on. When he checked his bag, he only had one singlet, a bible and two ten cent coins. He was freezing in the cold. Even though he didn't have that much, he worked as hard as a train. Every day he woke up, read his bible “Christ is my light’’, had his breakfast and went to work. He did that every day for 2 years. After 2 years, he married a Samoan lady and had 6 children. He lived happily ever after with his big family………..

What kind of swimming tricks can you do? By Gabby

WALT - write a recount using similies and metaphors.
I know this when I use 'like...' to describe something or someone correctly in my writing.
One fine Sunday afternoon, the heat was high and it was a great time to go..... swimming! The sky was blue as my blue berry flavoured Gatorade in the fridge. My eyes were so heavy, that it felt as if they were weight lifting with my eyelashes. My arms and legs were weak and I felt really lazy to even walk a step. I decided to fill my stomach with nutella sandwich and a cup of milk with 3 ice cubes to get some energy. I went to my bedroom and found Panda.
Panada was taking a nap on the bed, purring and had his fur all over the place. I went into my parent's room and asked my mum, "When are we going to go swimming?"
"In the afternoon", she responded. I sped up time by playing, Don't tap the spikes and Geometry dash on my iPad. I was feeling lonely since my older sibling doesn't like playing with me so I went into the hallway to go to Panda. I went to the bedroom and went up the bunk bed ladder. I sometimes made unexplainable sounds when I was tickling and petting Panda.
Finally it was 12:00 p.m! I dashed to get my clothes in the garage. I got my things and especially, my swim suit! When I was finished packing, I stuffed them into a plastic bag that I  took out from the pantry. We went into the car and drove to the swimming center. When I looked at a sign, it said that children 16 and under can go for free! It cost an adult $3.30 to go on the pool. My mum didn't choose to go to the pool but she chose to go to the sauna. She got a pink strip of paper around her wrist to prove that she could go into the sauna.
Next, my mum wanted us to eat so that we could have enough energy to swim. We went into the cafeteria near the entrance and picked the table outside. When she opened the bag, it was pancit. I didn't like that kind of pancit because it was hard to chew so I took the meatballs and a piece of squid tentacle. I tried the squid tentacle, but it was hard to chew as well, just like the pancit. I opened up my can of Pepsi and took a few gulps of it. I mostly drank the Pepsi because there were only 2 pieces of meatballs. We all got full and packed up the food. It was finally time to change and go back into the swimming pool.
When I went into the changing rooms, I put the plastic bag on the sink counter so the plastic bag wouldn't be stepped on or get wet. I told my auntie that she had to take a little shower before coming into the pool. She didn't know how to so I had to show her how. I went inside the shower with my swimming suit and shut the door so it won't open. I took off my clothes and quickly put on my swimming togs. My clothes were wet but at least I got another set! I walked to the pool shaking and quivering from the cold.
My auntie said she would only go into the pool if it's warm. I went in the pool and the temperature was just right for relaxing. It felt as if I was in a paradise island. I swam around and put my head in the water. I tried opening my eyes underwater but it felt as if something has stung my eyes. I rubbed my eyes and closed them for a few seconds to make sure that the soreness was gone.
Then, I tried floating on my back while paddling. I tried it tons of times but water kept going into my nose or mouth. Sometimes when I tried to catch my breath, I accidentally swallowed the pool water which made me burp 2 times. I folded my legs and my arms. I was feeling quite lonely so I kept calling my auntie to come down to the pool every time but she replied the same answer in every one of my questions, "Not yet." I tried practicing every thing I saw in the late Olympics. I tried the backstroke but I kept going down the water and my hands wouldn't turn the right way.
After that, my auntie came out from the changing rooms and I was already bored so I just stood there like a statue but the water current kept pushing my arms and legs away. I just couldn't stand the water, it was really annoying. I didn't want to be pushed by the water anymore so I crossed my legs and my arms. I was sinking down the water and when my legs touched the ground, I felt an impact on my ear. I got up from the water and felt as if my eardrums were going to explode. "I better not do that again", I said to myself. I tried many experiments on the water like rolling under water and letting my body go on the water. I floated when my legs and arms were out, but when I took in one arm to my chest, I sunk. I finally knew that you float when you have equal weight on your arms and legs.
After that, my fingers were turning white, wrinkly and old just like an elderly lady's fingers. My auntie was already changed and my mum was too. I was about to get out of the water but my mum thought I was still swimming, so she shouted at me, "It's time to change!" I got up the pool stairs and my body was really heavy. I went to the changing room and looked in the plastic bag. My clothes weren't there! I tried double-checking, but they disappeared like magic! The only thing we could only do now was to wrap the towel around me and go back into the car. I walked out of the changing room and to the entrance. A few people were staring at me and I felt embarrassed.

We got into the car and put the towel on the seat so I wouldn't make the car seat wet. The pool water that I accidentally gulped before quite made my stomach felt  empty so when I got home, I gobbled another piece of nutella sandwich.

My really happy weekend! By Julius

It was a Saturday morning and I felt really happy. I got out of bed and played Minecraft. I felt a roller coaster of emotions. After my game, I did my chores.I had to clean out the rubbish bins, make the beds and put away the dishes.

When I was done, I went back to playing Minecraft. Then my uncles came back from work. They are building a two story house, but Michael had a rugby game so my mum got ready was getting ready. However I kept playing my game because I didn't want to go. My Nana was still doing the chores and I was bored because my cousins weren't coming over.

The following day, I went to church with my Nana and grandpa. When church ended we went home.
When I got home, I played with my iPod.My mum and dad brought a sponge cake so I had some. At nightime, I went with my dad to my other Nana's house we went the my aunty's house.

It's time for college! By Ella-Marie

WALT write a recount using appropriate language features.

I know this when I write speeches and similes correctly in my writing.
On a hot sunny Saturday, my family and I went to the Pakuranga college to enrol my sister. Once we arrived there, there was no parking spot in sight. It was like there was a famous singer singing at the college. It took 3 minutes to find a parking. If I hadn't told my mum to park there, it could have taken more than 5 minutes just to find a parking.

When we walked into the school, two students offered to show us around. They said to us “Ask us questions if you want to know about what we do in the classes”. My mum answered. “ O.k”.

Our first class was the music room. In the music room they played all sorts of music. They sang and played instruments like drums, trumpets, guitars and a lot more. At the end of each year, they got to take their instruments home. Then we moved on to the next class. The next class was the Drama room. In the Drama room, students practise for shows or plays so they can act out in front of the school. This is the class that my sister wants to try out.

As we were walking to the next class, it started to rain so we started to run. In no time, we were safe because we were in the gym. The students demonstrated the options that were available in the gymnasium. She said “We play in here for our P.E. We play games like netball or basketball and we play soccer and other sports on our field”. Our next stop was the pool. I was so glad they had a pool. I love pools. They explained that each year they have swimming competitions. On the weekdays, they have time to practise but only for the people who wants to swim.

There were a lot more classes like technology classes and language classes. We were then led to the office and my mum handed in the form and my sister’s birth certificate. After everything was sorted, my mum bought a sausage sizzle and a little treat for all of us. We ate them until we were full. It tasted so yummy.

After eating, it was time to leave so we packed up our things. I had an awesome day and I wish I could go to that college so I could be like my awesome sister.

Don't Worry, the Duffy Heroes will help you to READ! By Ace

Duffy came to visit St. Patrick's school

“We need to go to the hall for Duffy Theatre and I want you to be on your best behaviour,” said Miss Chao to our class on Monday afternoon. We walked fast to the hall and sat quietly on the floor waiting for the show to begin. When the show started the Duffy king grabbed a guitar and danced like a rock n roll star! When Rosie came on stage, Mr Bingo, the Duffy king stopped and lay down on the floor. We all laughed!

Bingo and Duffy king asked if we can sing the full song of Duffy kid.  We happily shouted “YES!!!!!”  They started singing the song and we all followed. After the singing, they started to get really funny. They were talking about books and reading books and how fun reading is. When Rosie and Duffy found out that Bingo does not read books they decided that they would help him learn how to read because they think that he couldn’t read at all and they felt so sorry for him…..

When they told Mr Bingo about their plan to help him, he said to them, “I know how to read but I simply don’t like reading. I like sports not reading! Reading is boring!” Duffy king thought of another Idea to make Mr. Bingo to like reading. “The Very Best Book, a made up book by Duffy King should encourage him”, Duffy muttered to himself. He made an empty book and told us to put our great ideas into the book. When all our Ideas  were in,  it was time to give it to Mr. Bingo!

Mr Bingo started reading the Very Best book but he still did not like reading it.  He was still not interested at all! He said to them that he prefers to ride on an aeroplane than doing reading. When he got to the plane, Duffy and Rosie decided to make the airplane to fly so slow so Bingo would feel bored then he had no other choice but to read the book. He started reading and before he knew it, he finished reading the whole book as the plane was landing on a rugby field.

They got to the stadium just as the rugby tournament was starting. He was one of the rugby players. While playing, he suddenly did ballet moves and he looked cool like a real ballerina. He scored a try and won the game! Rosie and Duffy knew that Bingo read the Ballet Book. Duffy made Rosie the queen of books because it was her book that made Mr. Bingo finally able to like to read books.

The Duffy Theatre was amazing! I wish that there will be many people like Mr. Duffy and Rosie who help kids to love reading because Reading is Fun! I also wish that there will be another Duffy Theatre happening in our school again soon!

Dhon's Team won a Tournament! By Greshka

On Saturday afternoon, my family and I went to the Trust Stadium in Henderson to watch my brother Dhon play basketball. My brother was part of the Counties Manukau Basketball team. We couldn’t find the place on the GPS so my dad called my brother’s teammate’s dad. Before he could tell me the place, I found the location on the GPS and it took us 25 minutes to arrive at the arena.

When we walked inside, it looked like a big mall in a popular city. There were shops and a cafe at the entrance. As soon as my brother found his teammates and his coach, they went towards. The coach gave him his uniform and it was a black and red singlet that had a white number 13 on it. The number peeled off the uniform so the coach replaced it with another singlet that had the number 15 on it. Before we went upstairs to find a seat, two girls stamped my parents’ hands.

It was a long way up. After the 4th set of steps, we entered a door. It was a good view as we were on the second level. My dad got out the camcorder and the tripod. I complained because I didn’t want to do the recording for the game, so my dad did the recording so that he can analyse the game with brother afterwards. As soon as the game started, my dad started recording.

It was a long game because in each of the game, there were four rounds. While my dad was recording, I was playing ‘Don’t Touch the Spikes’ on my phone. My family and I were really hungry after my brother’s team won their game.

We went to the closest Burger King in Henderson. My mum told my brothers and I to find a seat in Burger King. My dad ordered five sundaes, five burgers and five drinks. When we finished eating, we filled the cups again and went back to the arena.

We had an hour to spare before my brother’s next game. I was drinking my coke from Burger King while playing games on my phone and listening to music. My brothers were playing on a spinning sculpture. When it was almost 5 o’clock, my brother got ready for the next game.

We went up the steps and entered the same door. I asked my dad if I could go up to the floor where you can see the best view and my dad said, “Yes”. So I went out the door, walked up the next set of steps and opened the door. I saw a small flight of stairs going down. When I went down the stairs, the view was as high as a bird’s view when it’s flying. I sat on a seat, played on my phone and listened to music. After a while, my dad came and started recording again. After the third quarter, my dad told me to do the recording. We went home after Dhon won his second game.

It was a good tournament because Dhon’s team won and played well together. It is too bad that my baby brother Hanz missed out on his classmate's birthday party as it was the same day. I wish I could join a tournament like that.

My Game Against Grammar Green! By Cameron

On Saturday, my mum and dad took me to my rugby game. My team is called Marist Storm and we were versing Grammar Green at their home ground that morning. When we got to the field, we started with some warm ups. We had to wait a bit because they were late. My coach told us that if we didn’t win, we will have to run up the hill 100 times.

When the other team arrive, the game was started and my coach picked the player to go on the first half. We kicked off for the game and the Grammar Green caught the ball. We chased the ball and started to tackle the player with the ball. We had to do a blow over. When we got the ball, we started to pass the ball to Sione so he can try  to get a try for our team.

After that, the other team got the ball and started to run to the other side. However, he got tackled and he went out of the rugby field. The hooker is the one to throw the ball in and the halfback calls out a move to the rugby players so they can move into position. It was almost halftime and we got tackled out of the field. The score was 3 - 1.

We kicked off the second half as well. The other team dropped the ball and we had to do a scrum. The scrum is when you push the ball back to the halfback. When the ball went out, the other team had to do the lineout. When the ball was thrown in, the halfback of the other team got it so I ran to get the ball. They drop the ball and I caught it and pass it to Sione so he can get another try for our team. Then the score became 6 to 3 to us.

I was happy that we won the match because we all tried really hard and we worked really well as a team.

I Can't Wait for the Next Weekend! By Greshka

Last Sunday, my family and I had a really fun day. Before the events happened, I woke up, changed my clothes and ate my breakfast as quickly as a cheetah. Then my dad drove us all the way to Saint Mark’s Church in Pakuranga.

I am part of a choir called ‘Tawag Awit’ that sings for church. My friends and I sang beautifully like birds chirping together. After a little while, my parents called us to gather and we went back home.

When we came home, I made a present for Tita Daisy. It was her birthday that day so I made a bracelet for her. It was a yellow bracelet made with loom bands and it had a blue and orange flower in the middle.

Then I helped my dad to unclog the messy and muddy pipe where our wastes go out. It was hard work. My dad scoops the faeces out of the pipe with a long stick and a plastic cup. It looked really yucky and smelt gross. After a few scoops, the cup fell into the brown liquid because it was heavy. My dad told me to get two more plastic cups but I didn’t know why.

Afterwards, I helped my dad fix the overflowing pipe that was connected to the taps in our house. My dad found some things inside the soap suds. Then he scooped the water into a bucket. I held onto the hose while my dad got the broom and pushed the liquid onto the grass.

Then we cleaned the van that my dad drives to fix coffee machines. It was big and long. I grabbed a hose and sprayed the van while my dad got a broom and swept the van with dish washing liquid. Then my dad grabbed the hose and rinsed the van all over. It looked squeaky clean!

After that, we cleaned the small car. It was grey and it could fit five people in it. First, we cleaned the inside of the car. I got a vacuum and I helped Dad to clean the floor. Then we cleaned the outside of the car. I grabbed a hose and sprayed water all over the car. Then Dad grabbed the dish washing liquid and squirted it over the car and scrubbed it with a broom. Then he got the hose and rinsed the car.

Then we washed the front entrance of the house. I placed all the shoes inside the house and removed the red, spiky mat. First, my dad sprayed water with a hose at the entrance floor. Then I gave my dad the dish washing liquid and he squirted it all over the entrance and scrubbed it with a broom. Then we scrubbed the floor with the broom.

Afterwards, my family and I went to Tita Daisy’s house for her birthday party. We were the first family to arrive at her house. I gave her the bracelet and kissed her on the cheek. She thanked me and I said “You’re welcome”. We bought three boxes of pizza in Domino's afterwards. The flavours were pepperoni, Hawaiian and cheese and they only cost $15! When all our friends came, Tito Bruce said a blessing and we ate food. I ate many slices of pizza, two pieces of KFC chicken and some rice. We went home at 9 o'clock that night and I changed into my pyjamas, brushed my teeth and went to bed.

I felt tired and exhausted after the busy day. However, it was worth it because we now have a clean environment and home.

A crazy yet fun day with my cat Panda! By Gabby

WALT - write a recount using adjectives and adverbs to make my writing more interesting.
I know this when I use action words and describing words appropriately and correctly in my writing.
In the weekend, I stayed at home on a cold Sunday morning…...

When I woke up, I got up and stretched. I checked the bunk bed to see if my brother and sister were still sleeping. I went to my sister's bed and saw her quietly snoring. I shook her and said "Hey, hey Patsy! Wake up!" I stopped shaking her and tried to see how she reacted. A while later, she just groaned and moved. I knew just the trick to wake her up, so I got my cat Panda and put him beside her. He went inside the blanket to get warm and cozy.

Panda is a 2-month old kitten and his mother is an adult cat named Molly. Panda is small like a medium sized rock. He is black and white and loves to chew and fight the blue mat that says "WELCOME." He usually goes out when the weather is warm but stays inside our bedroom when it's cold. My cat Pooh is very fluffy, she sleeps on the bottom corners of the bed and she is the only cat who plays with Panda. Molly growls when Panda is near her, so that's why Panda loves the bedroom.

First, Panda went wriggling inside the blanket which made my sister to open her eyes and grabbed him. She snuggled next to him but Panda tried shaking off from her hands. He slid into a tight spot on the left end of the bed. My sister said " Go get Panda!"I quickly stood up,went on the ground and went under the bed. It was a very tight squeeze to move in, I felt like a sponge being squeezed by a hand. I slowly crept up to him and grabbed him as fast as a speeding car, but I missed and he got away. I crawled and crawled to where Panda was but he was no longer there.  I went out of the bedroom door and I chased after him.

I walked into the garage and saw that no one was there so I went outside to check for Panda again. Then, I saw him up the fence but I couldn't reach him. I said to him "I..... Give..... UP!" Because I was so tired, I decided to taste one of the green, small and hairy strawberries from our plants. I washed it with the tap water inside the house and ate it. It was sour, sweet, but mostly bitter. When I walked back into the garage, I looked at the cat flap on the window  to see if any cats were outside ready to come inside to eat their biscuits.

Then, the floor shone like the shining sun and I saw foot prints of my muddy socks. "Uh oh" I whispered. I was kind of lucky because my brother wasn't playing in the computer and he would tell me off. I quickly grabbed the mop as fast as a hungry lion chasing a gazelle. I dipped the mop into a bucket of clean water and I was clumsy and unsteady because I still had my muddy and wet socks on. I kept cleaning the floor and I was confused when it felt like the footprints were infinitely appearing. I finally figured out what was happening so I took my socks off. I went to the bathroom and put my socks into the laundry basket. I went back to the garage and continued what I was doing until it was squeaky clean. The floor was still wet but luckily, the sun was finally out and the floor dried quickly.

After working so hard cleaning the floor, I felt hungry so I grabbed 3 pieces of cookie bear chocolate chip cookies, toast with nutella and milk with ice. After I ate the toast and the cookies, I drank all of the milk in the cup until there was only ice left in the glass. Before I put the ice in the bin and put the cup in the sink, I looked inside the cup. There, I saw some white, wet powder on the ice. I scooped a little bit of of it and put only some of it on my tongue. I swallowed it, and it was really disgusting because it tasted like salt water and slug slime mixed together. I took another cup from the cupboard and I got some cold water from the fridge. I took 3 cups of water and drank it to make sure the taste was gone.

Finally, I went into the living room feeling sick and tired. The sliding door was open so I proceeded to close it. I slowly slid the door close because my arms were shaking. Panda zoomed into the open space and went on the couch. I rested my head on the pillow and went next to him. Panda started playing and chewing my hair and it tickled me but  I didn't mind. Eventually,Panda stopped and started to purr. I closed my eyes for a moment and before I knew it, I was fast asleep……..
