It keeps happening! By Oliver

Evaporation happens when the sun heats up seawater, making it so hot that it turns into steam. As it rises up into the air, the steam from the hot water becomes cold and turns into gas. After a while, the clouds become so filled with water (from the sea), causing it to rain. Finally there is a collection  of water that falls to the ground. This collection  becomes soil water or ocean water.
Learning Intention: We are learning about natural resources.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I record all the stages of a water cycle using screencastify.

You wouldn't use wood in a window pane! By Oliver

Learning Intention: we are learning to recognise simple properties of materials, such as strength, flexibility and transparency.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I record the materials song using screencastify.

                             lyrics
When you want to hammer a nail into wood, a hammer head of metal is good.
You need something that is hard enough to hammer other metal stuff.
Choose your materials carefully.
Think about all of their properties.
You wouldn’t wear paper clothes in the rain, or use wood in a window pane.
Leather belts bend easily, cause they have flexibility.
And rubber is quite fantastic, when you need stuff that is elastic.
Choose your materials carefully.
Think about all of their properties.
You wouldn’t wear paper clothes in the rain, or use wood in a window pane.
Paper, plastic, metal and wood, glass, ceramics, cotton, wool.
Fabric comes from fibre that is spun and woven into cloth by everyone.
Natural wool and cotton, synthetic, polyester and nylon.
Choose your materials carefully.
Think about all of their properties.
You wouldn’t wear paper clothes in the rain, or use wood in a window pane.

The four month old ruler of the universe! By Oliver

My favourite characters - Pete and Ellie Pete is my favourite character because Pete keeps trying and never gives up.
Recommendation - Yes, because I found it very interesting
My favourite part was when Ellie bit Loraine's finger because she was in such a shock that the baby talked.

Learning Intention: We are learning to understand the text that we are reading.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I complete a book review using information from the book Pete and the ruler of the universe.

That gold is really shiny! By Oliver

We are using De Bono’s six thinking hats to help us develop our critical thinking skills.

What suggestions and ideas do we have?
What are the key facts?
I think it should go to the people Forex brokers owes money to.
Someone left half a million dollars in a safe.
They don't know who to give the money to.

What are the good things about it?
How do we feel about it?
It was a lot of money and it’s good that it has been found because someone could have stolen it.
Glad because someone could have stolen it.

What things will we need to think about?
What problems might we have?
We shouldn't leave gold lying around.
Someone might own that gold and they couldn’t get it because Forex brokers found it.

Learning Intention: We are learning to develop our critical thinking skills.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I answer the six De Bono thinking hat questions about the article 'Secret stash of gold found locked in a safe'.
