There is so many items in this store! By Tristan

On a very cold Saturday night, my family and I went to K-Mart Botany to do some shopping. We changed to our winter clothes and hopped in our gigantic red car. On the way there, I closed my eyes and thought about all the things that happened in my life like when I was baptised and became a Christian. Then I talked with my mother about when I was a baby and all the good times I shared with my family while growing up.

When we reached our destination, I hopped out of the car and I saw people coming in and out of the store. When we were inside, I looked around and my parents told me we should start exploring from the right side first then the left side. So we first headed to the baking and cooking department.  My mother looked at a black baking pan for cooking. We talked about the price, if it's good value for our money or if it would fit in our oven or if it would last. Then after five minutes of discussion, my mother decided to buy it.

Then we proceeded to the toys section.  I saw different kinds of games like indoor games and outdoor games. We didn't buy anything there so we went to the clothing area. My uncle found a jacket that he really wanted to buy. He even tried to fit it in and the jacket did fit him, perfectly. So we went to the check-out to purchase our items.

When we reached the cashiers we waited in the line and when it was our turn I helped my uncle and my mother to put the items in the bags.  As soon as my mother finished scanning the bar codes of the things we were buying, she paid them using her credit card and when the receipt came out, we headed back to our car. We all ran towards our car because we all felt extremely cold outside especially because  we just came out from a warm place.

Saturday night was a great night because we got to purchase two items. My favourite part of Saturday night was when I helped my parents scanned the  bar codes of the things we were buying from K-Mart.  Next time we go shopping, I want to ask my parents if we could go to another store besides K-Mart.

What a delicious chopped pork! By Tristan

On a cold breezy Sunday night, my family and I went to a restaurant to celebrate my mother's 38th birthday. Our first choice was a Mongolian Restaurant called Genghis Khan but ended up at another restaurant called, ' Momo Tea'.

First, we went to Genghis Khan but when we got there, my parents saw that there were too many people inside so we decided to go to Momo Tea instead. We drove there as fast as we possibly can. Luckily, we found a parking straight away because we were already starving.

We were given a table for three and as soon as we were seated, we ordered our food and drinks without delay. I ordered, 'Mango Shake' for my drink and my mother ordered a 'Mocha Shake'. Not long after, our food was served.  My family was amazed at how fast they prepare their food there.

My family and I said a short prayer then we started eating our delicious food. I had chopped pork with a special dark sauce. It tasted so yummy that each bite was savoured.  After eating, we all leaned back and reflected about the food we all just ate. Later on, we paid and slowly left the restaurant with our full stomachs. On the way back I sang my mother a Happy Birthday song.

Sunday night was one of the most important nights because I got to celebrate my mother's 38th birthday. Next year when we celebrate my mother's birthday I want to celebrate it at Genghis Khan. My favourite part of that freezing Sunday night was eating delicious food and celebrating my mother's birthday.

Woah! That building over there is very similar to the Taj Mahal in India! By Tristan

On Saturday 28th of May, before night time, my family and I went to the viaduct where there were ships and vessels. We went there so we could explore and get to learn more about the place. We used our four-wheeled car because it is used for travelling purposes when our family goes to faraway places.  Luckily the weather wasn't bad on that day so we decided that it was a great time for some adventure. We all got ready excitedly then I rushed to the car first because I couldn't wait to go.

While travelling, I saw different kinds of buildings and cars. I saw tall buildings, small buildings, vintage cars and new shiny cars. At first, I was a bit confused as to where we were going since it was my first time passing through to that way. My mother was taking pictures so she could post them online while I was looking for more interesting things. I was amazed at the beauty of the sun coming down which made the autumn leaves look spectacular.

When we arrived at the viaduct in Auckland, I  was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful scenery. I saw vessels and boats coming in and sailing away. My uncle took pictures of my mother and I in the middle of one of the boats and a very tall brown building that looked similar to Taj Mahal in India.  After taking a lot of photos, the boat had finally sailed away, so we couldn't take anymore pictures of it.  It was nice to actually see boats sailing because it's a whole new experience for me.

Then we decided to move to another destination since it was time to have dinner. We went to Dominion Road in Balmoral. We used our GPS to guide us to locate the place.  When we got there,  we searched for a nice place to eat. Eventually, we found a Chinese restaurant called, 'Yummy Kitchen'. We had to order our food and my mother and uncle ordered a plate of noodles, a plate of salted pepper chicken, fried rice and dumplings. When the food was served, I took a piece of the salted pepper chicken and I realised it was very delicious. So the next time I took one more and I decided to savour the flavour before swallowing it. After dinner, we paid the bill then went back home. We had to run to our car quickly because the rain started to pour down on us.

Saturday was a fun day for me because I got to explore a new place in Auckland. Next time we go travelling, I want to ask my uncle and mother if we could travel to another place that we haven't been to before. My favourite part of Saturday was when I saw new different kinds of buildings and cars that we passed by on the way.
